Bhima Thoroughbreds Overview

The Bhima brand last offered yearlings in 2002, and graduates included the Gr1 Epsom winner Excellerator. The property was recently purchased by the Broadwater team and this will be their first draft under the new banner.

Previously under Broadwater, proprietors Mike and Kate Fleming sold horses such as Singapore’s star sprinter Super One, Gr2 winner and Gr1-placed Bound for Earth, Gr3 winner and Gr1-placed Scissor Kick, and Ready for Victory (3^rd behind Press Statement in the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas).

Bhima brings a draft of 12 yearlings to Magic Millions Gold Coast in 2016, by 12 different sires, so there will be something for everyone.

Some highlights include Lot 38, the second foal of Gr3 winner Augusta Proud, whose first foal was a city winner recently. This colt is by boom freshman sire Pierro.

Lot 214 is a colt by freshman sire All Too Hard from 2YO stakes winner Fasline whose only foal to race is a winner. This is the family of Gr1 winner Captain Sonador.

A filly with plenty of residual value is Lot 428, by Ocean Park, from stakes placed Miraculous Miss who is the dam of two stakes winners in Avisto and Celtic Tiger. Another filly with residual value is Lot 642, a Fastnet Rock half sister to the promising Ballet Suite and stakes winner Casquets.

Lot 662 is a full-sister to stakes winning Super One (by I Am Invincible), one of the best horses to race in Singapore in recent years and part-owned by Newgate Farm; while Lot 711 is a colt by Choisir out of a stakes-winning mare who has left this season’s stakes-placed Kaepernick. Other sires represented include Street Cry (Lot 153), Exceed and Excel (Lot 173), Lope de Vega (Lot 371), Helmet (Lot 586), Commands (Lot 685) and Duke of Marmalade (Lot 715).
