The word "royalty" was invented to describe the pedigree of a horse like stunningly-pedigreed Prince of Caviar. Afterall, he is the first son of the mighty, undefeated, 15-time Gr1 winner Black Caviar, appropriately dubbed the best sprinter in the world.
Prince of Caviar exhibited immediate precocity, like his famous dam, and hinted at what lay ahead when only 0.3-lengths behind subsequent Gr1 winner Extra Brut on debut. He won his maiden at only his third career outing when a prohibitive short-priced favourite. Unfortunately, his promising career was cut short by injury just as he was rising through the grades to almost inevitable stakes class.
An on-speed, colonially bred style of sprinter, perfectly suited to the Australian market and racing style, Prince of Caviar was very well supported in his first season at stud in 2020, where his fertility was excellent.
Prince of Caviar is by Australia's Champion 2YO colt of 2007-2008 in Sebring, winner of the Gr1 Golden Slipper. He is the sire of a host of Group 1 winners including Horse of The Year Dissident, Criterion, Egg Tart, Nettoyer and Gr1 Thousand Guineas winner Amphitrite. In his immediate pedigree are world-class Group 1 performers and stallions All Too Hard, Magnus and Ole Kirk.
At a fee well below his bloodlines of only $4,400 inc GST, Prince of Caviar is a serious live chance to be successful at stud and produce early going, commercial types - just like his elite sprinting parents.
