Pleasuring Wins Listed Tasmanian Oaks

Monday, 26th February 2018

Earlier on the card at Mowbray Racecourse in Launceston on Sunday, Gr1-winning Darley shuttler & 2007 Gr1 Kentucky Derby runner-up Hard Spun (Danzig-Turkish Tryst, by Turkoman) added a black-type success when 3YO Australian-bred filly Pleasuring (Hard Spun-Sleeplessinseattle, by End Sweep) made it back-to-back interstate trainer Darren Weir. Sent off a short favourite in the $150,000 Listed Tasmanian Oaks (2100m) for sophomore fillies, Pleasuring was given a soft run midfield by Damian Lane, and just had to rely on a little luck to find an out in the straight. Once clear Pleasuring purred to the line ahead 1.5-lengths ahead of a game Gone Girl and fellow Victorian raider Berkshire Lady. Having captured her inaugural black type win two weeks ago in Hobart's Listed Strutt Stakes, Contract Racing home-bred Pleasuring took her record to 3 wins & 5 placings from 9 starts for $227,260 earnings.
