Falcon Crest To Benefit from Pike Services

Wednesday, 30th May 2018

Champion jockey William Pike is likely to partner Falcon Crest in Saturday's Group 3 Belmont Sprint (1400m), reports the West Australian. The 6YO will be having his first start since posting his maiden stakes win in the Listed Old Comrade Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on 14 April. "Grant's been really happy with him," part-owner Jason Carone said. "Grant and Alana have kept him fresh instead of stretching him out in distance and it's worked a treat. We'll have a crack at these three Belmont features and see if he's up to them." The other races Carone was referring to are the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes (1600m) and Group 3 Strickland Stakes (2000m). Pike is at the top of his game at present becoming just the second WA jockey in the modern era to ride six city winners at Belmont Park last Saturday.
