Monday, 28th May 2018

At Kranji racecourse in Singapore, Arrowfield Stud's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice-Single's Bar, by Rory's Jester) celebrated an elite race success when 5YO Australian-bred gelding Southern Legend (Not a Single Doubt-Donna's Appeal, by Carnegie) landed the biggest prize oh his career when bounding to an emphatic 3 length win in the S$1.5 million Gr1 Kranji Mile (1600m), defeating Horse Of Fortune & Nova Strike. Hong Kong galloper Southern Legend, who was formerly trained in Sydney by Les Bridge, improved his record to 8 wins (including the Listed The Sebring) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 HKJC Champions Mile & Gr2 ATC Theo Marks Stakes) from 20 starts for $1,667,586 in earnings. Southern Legend, who hails from the female family of South African Gr1 winner Sydney's Dream - the dam of Arrowfield's former Gr1-winning stallion Charge Forward -  as well as multiple Group winner Kidman's Cove and Gimcrack Stakes winner Donna Natalia, was purchased for $280,000 at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of George Altomonte's Corumbene Stud.
