At Sha Tin in Hong Kong, 4YO French-bred entire Helen Paragon (Polan-High Zaff, by High Chaparral) broke through for a well deserved success at the elite level when scoring by 0.75 length for trainer John Moore and jockey Tommy Berry in the HK$10 million Gr1 Stewards' Cup (1600m), over 4YO Irish-bred gelding Joyful Trinity (Zanzibari-Bargouzine, by Stravinsky) & 7YO Australian-bred gelding Able Friend (Shamardal-Ponte Piccolo, by Volksraad). Helen Paragon improved his record to 7 wins (including the Gr3 HKJC Premier Plate) and 6 placings (including the Gr1 Hong Kong Mile & Gr1 Prix Jean Prat) from 21 starts for £2,291,365 earnings. Moore said Helene Paragon would be aimed at the Gr1 Dubai Turf in March. “I’ve already spoken to the owners of Helene Paragon and they’re happy to go to Dubai for the 1,800m. Whether Tommy Berry can ride him or not, I’m not sure. March 25 is a big day in Sydney so Tommy might have to ride there – if he does, Joao is waiting for the call up," he told the South China Morning Post.
