Redzel Wins Gr3 Concorde Stakes

At Royal Randwick in Sydney, Arrowfield Stud's incumbent Champion Australian Sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added a Group race success when 6YO Australian-bred gelding Redzel (Snitzel-Millrich, by Rubiton) outclassed his rivals when resuming with a dominant win in the $160,000 Gr3 Concorde Stakes (1100m) for 3YO+, defeating Kaepernick & Invincible Star. This was a strong first-up performance from Redzel who showed he is on track to defend his title in the $13 million The Everest (1200m) at Royal Randwick on 13 October. "He is going as well as he was this time last year when he won the Concorde" co-trainer Peter Snowden told Sky Racing. "They always have to come back and do it and I'm mindful we've got six weeks until the Everest."
