At Flemington in Melbourne, Arrowfield Stud's high profile Gr1-winning stallion Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added a black-type success when 2YO bay colt Ducimus (Snitzel-Beauty World, by Danehill Dancer) survived a protest from the third placegetter to score by 0.2 length for the esteemed triumvirate of John, Wayne & Michael Hawkes in the $120,000 Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) for 2YOs, over fellow 2YO colt Taking Aim (Choisir-Girl Hussler, by Hussonet) & 2YO filly Sanadaat (Not a Single Doubt-It's Fun, by Real Quiet). A $700,000 purchase at the 2016 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Blue Gum Farm, Ducimus extended his unbeaten record to 2 wins from 2 starts for $85,850 earnings. Despite making the perfect start to his career, co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said the stable would not be rushing Ducimus into any of the upcoming major juvenile features. "This is only his first prep in the stable at Flemington, so for a first serious racing prep you can't ask for much more he's won two out of two," co-trainer Wayne Hawkes told Racing.com. "We will probably err on the side of caution with him because he's still a baby...he's still quite immature." Ducimus is the eighth foal to race from the top producer Beauty World (Danehill Dancer), dam also of dual Gr3 winner Hi World, smart WA galloper and Gr3 winner Lite'n In My Veins, Listed winner Loveyamadly, Gr1-placed American Crew, and stakes-placed Where's Wally.

Lite'n Can Figure In Railway: Kersley

Friday, 18th November 2016

Trainer Fred Kersley says promising galloper Lite'n In My Veins has the talent to be highly competitive in tomorrow'sGr1 Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot. Whilst acknowledging that he must continue to improve to trouble the likes of Gr1 winner and co-favourite Perfect Reflection, Kersley says the 4YO has the right profile to figure prominently in the $1 million feature. "He's an up and coming horse. He's a lightly raced horse but has done a very good job in his few starts," Kersley told Melbourne's Radio Sport National. "He was able to win a Group race at his first start as a two-year-old so he's always had potential. He is lightly raced compared to most of these other horses and its probably a question of whether he can improve on his early form." He added: "He still has a question mark against the very best but he is a very promising animal. He's one of the players but it's going to be a very tough race." Lite'n In My Veins (Henrythenavigator-Beauty World, by Danehill Dancer) has won 5 of his 8 starts hitherto, including the Gr3 Northerly Stakes & Gr3 Lee-Steere Classic.

Meanwhile, trainer Fred Kersley is keen to see how Lite'n In My Veins (Henrythenavigator-Beauty World, by Danehill Dancer) comes up this preparation before making any ambitious plans for the spring, reports the West Australian. The boom WA three-year-old, who is a half-brother to Gr3 ATC Frank Packer Plate & Gr3 ATC Carbine Club Stakes winner Hi World (High Chaparral), has won 3 of his 4 starts to date, highlighted by his win in the Gr3 Lee-Steere Classic (1400m) in December. Connections Knock Back Offers For Exciting 3YO

Tuesday, 12th January 2016

The owners of boom West Australian 3YO Lite'n In My Veins have revealed they have been inundated with overseas offers for the unbeaten gelding, reports the West Australian. The Fred Kersley-trained youngster scored an easy win at Ascot on Saturday to extend his unbeaten record to 2 wins from as many starts after landing the Gr3 Lee Steere Classic (1400m) on debut in December. However, managing owner Neville Duncan said the exciting galloper was not for sale. "There have been numerous offers from all necks of the woods," Duncan said. "For the people involved it is about having a good horse to race and not the money. The horse is not for sale." By Coolmore's 4-time Gr1-winning stallion Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo), Lite'n In My Veins is a half-brother to Gr3 ATC Frank Packer Plate & Gr3 ATC Carbine Club Stakes winner Hi World (High Chaparral) and Listed winner Loveyamadly (Bel Esprit) from the Danehill Dancer mare Beauty World. Interestingly, Lite'n In My Veins is raced by Oaklands Stud whose familiar yellow and black maltese silks were made famous by another Kersley stable star in champion galloper Northerly.

Lite'n In My Veins Strikes Again

Monday, 11th January 2016

Boom West Australian 3YO Lite'n In My Veins maintained his unbeaten record when posting an easy 1400m win at Ascot on Saturday. The Fred Kersley-trained gelding was backed from $1.30 into $1.20 and won comfortably for jockey Lucy Warwick by a half-a-length at his first start since winning the Gr3 Lee Steere Classic (1400m) on debut in early December. However, Kersley refuses to buy into the hype surrounding Lite'n In My Veins who, like his former champion WA galloper Northerly, races in the familiar yellow and black maltese silks of Oaklands Stud. "He has been labelled a good horse before he has really earned it," Kersley said. "You are always a bit apprehensive with a horse like him, who has such a big boom." He added: "He was tested today but he got through it. I was pleased with the run in that he got the job done. At this stage he'll probably go to the paddock." By Coolmore's brilliant 4-time Gr1-winning stallion Henrythenavigator (Kingmambo-Sequoyah, by Sadler's Wells), Lite'n In My Veins is a half-brother to Gr3 ATC Frank Packer Plate & Gr3 ATC Carbine Club Stakes winner Hi World (High Chaparral) and Listed winner Loveyamadly (Bel Esprit) from the Danehill Dancer mare Beauty World.
