Gr1 Kingston Town Classic Field & Barriers

The final field has been declared and the barrier draw conducted for the final Group 1 race of the year, the $1 million weight-for-age Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot racecourse in Perth this Saturday. Black Heart Bart, who will be chasing his sixth Group 1 victory, is the current $3.40 TAB fixed odds favourite for the race, ahead of Godolphin import It's Somewhat at $4.60 and local mare Perfect Jewel at $6. Perennial bridesmaid Tom Melbourne is the only other runner under double figure odds at $8. The field is:

Perfect Jewel Wins Gr2 WA Guineas

At Ascot in Perth, Western Australia, Arrowfield Stud's multiple Champion Australian Sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added a Group race success when 3YO Australian-bred filly Perfect Jewel (Redoute's Choice-Star Encounter, by Jeune) claimed her second stakes victory with a strong win in the $500,000 Gr2 WA Guineas (1600m) for 3YOs, defeating Achernar Star & Art Series. A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Perfect Jewel is out of the Listed Pinjarra Cup (2400m) winner Star Encounter and is a half-sister to Gr2 Perth Cup winner Star Exhibit and a full-sister to Listed Natasha Stakes winner Royal Star. She improved her record to 4 wins (including the Listed Belgravia Stakes) from 5 starts for $432,280 in earnings.

A homebred for prominent WA owner and breeder Bob Peters, Perfect Jewel is out of the Listed Pinjarra Cup (2400m) winner Star Encounter and is a half-sister to Gr2 Perth Cup winner Star Exhibit and a full-sister to Listed Natasha Stakes winner Royal Star. She extended her unbeaten record to 3 wins from 3 starts for $98,780 in earnings. Perfect Jewel, who became the 150th individual stakes winner for Redoute's Choice, holds some big race entries for the upcoming Perth summer racing carnival, including the Gr2 WA Guineas and Gr1 Kingston Town Classic on 9 December.
