Coolmore Aim for Pure Elation

Wednesday, 20th June 2018

Team Snowden has confirmed that the primary spring target of smart filly Pure Elation will be the $500,000 Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on 4 November, reports racingnsw.com.au. Raced by Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock Australia, Pure Elation (I Am Invincible-Members Joy, by Hussonet) showed plenty of promise in her juvenile season finishing runner-up to Golden Slipper winner Estijaab in the Gr2 Reisling Stakes, before rounding out her campaign with a strong win in the Gr2 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) at Randwick. "She really put her hand up and had a good crack and showed she's a mentally tough filly," co-trainer Peter Snowden said. "She might measure up for a Coolmore as a three-year-old. It's hard for a filly to win it but she has good ability."

Pure Elation Wins Gr2 Percy Sykes Stakes

Monday, 16th April 2018

On day two of The Championships at Royal Randwick, Yarraman Park's Gr3-winning stallion I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit-Cannarelle, by Canny Lad) added a Group race success when 2YO Australian-bred filly Pure Elation (I Am Invincible-Members Joy, by Hussonet) proved too classy for her rivals scoring a comfortable maiden stakes win in the $600,000 Gr2 Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) for 2YO fillies, defeating Fiesta & Outback Barbie. Owned by Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock Australia, Pure Elation improved her record to 2 wins and 1 placing (the Gr2 ATC Reisling Stakes) from 5 starts for $555,870 in earnings. A $320,000 purchase at the 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Swettenham Stud, Pure Elation hails from the family of Gr3 Merson Cooper Stakes winner Rosa's Joy (Rory's Jester), stakes winners Rosa's Spur and Rosarino, and six-time stakes winning sprinter Cohort.

Estijaab Wins Gr2 Reisling Stakes

Monday, 12th March 2018

At Royal Randwick in Sydney, Arrowfield Stud's incumbent Champion Australian Sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice-Snippets' Lass, by Snippets) added a Group race success when 2YO Australian-bred filly Estijaab (Snitzel-Response, by Charge Forward) rounded out her Golden Slipper preparation with a narrow but decisive win in the $300,000 Gr2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) for 2YO fillies, defeating Pure Elation & Sister Sledge. Co-trainer Michael Hawkes seemed pleased with Estijaab's performance despite the filly drifting slightly out to $6 with TAB for Saturday week's $3.5 million Gr1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens. "She ran really good time. It was a very good win. She was there to be beaten but the thing with this girl is you just hit the go button and she really wants to attack the line," Hawkes told Sky Racing. "It's not about how far...it's all about winning. How much more do you have to improve? She ran 1.09". Hawkes added: "Her brilliant attribute is she just relaxes and comes back underneath you. Once again she's done that. Onwards and upwards." From the dual Gr1-winning mare Response (Charge Forward), Estijaab races in the green and white colours of Emirates Park who purchased her from the Arrowfield draft for $1.7 million at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. She improved her record to 2 wins and 1 placing (the Gr2 ATC Silver Slipper Stakes) from 3 starts for $295,575 in earnings.
