At Flemington in Victoria, Darley's deceased shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner Street Cry (Machiavellian-Helen Street, by Troy) celebrated a Group success when his 4YO daughter Circular (Street Cry-Hexamater, by Octagonal) scored by 0.1 length for trainer John O’Shea in the $151,500 Gr3 Schweepervescence Trophy (1600m) for 3YO+, over fellow 5YO mare Zasorceress (Zabeel-Star Jasmine, by Encosta de Lago) and 7YO mare Miss Rose de Lago (Encosta de Lago-Crimson Dawn, by Fasliyev). Opening her black-type account, Circular took her record to 5 wins and 8 placings from 18 starts for $279,010 in earnings. Circular’s third dam Shadea produced the freakish pair of Lonhro and Niello.

Queensland Oaks Field & Barrier Draw

The final field has been declared and the barrier draw conducted for the $500,000 Gr1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) to be run at Eagle Farm this Saturday. This year's winter classic is shaping as one of the most open renewals in history, with as many as four fillies sharing favouritism for the race. New Zealand-bred fillies will be strongly represented in Saturday's Gr1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm, reports NZ Racing Desk. Chabaud, Imposing Lass, Alaskan Rose, Tavi Bay and Zasorceress are all in mix for winter classic honours, while Provocative and Zafiki are among the emergencies hoping to gain a start. The Roger James-trained Romantic Maid, a last-start winner in Sydney for the Cambridge horseman, is another Kiwi hope for classic success.

Top Victorian filly Jameka, who will be seeking a classic double after landing the VRC Oaks in the spring, is the current $3.50 favourite for the 3YO fillies feature ahead of Peter & Paul Snowden's highly progressive filly Happy Hannah at $4.60. Other horses under double figure odds are talented Kiwi fillies Capella ($7), Valley Girl ($8), and Sofia Rosa ($9). The final field is:

At Royal Randwick in Sydney, former 5-time Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Duke Of Marmalade (Danehill-Love Me True, by Kingmambo) – now standing at Drakenstein Stud in South Africa - added a Group success when 3YO filly Diamond Made (Duke of Marmalade-Showme Thediamonds, by Show a Heart) scored an upset 1-length win at odds of 77-1 for trainer Bruce Cross in the $200,000 Gr3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) for 3YO fillies, over fellow fillies Alaskan Rose (Encosta de Lago-Saskia, by Redoute's Choice) & Zasorceress (Zabeel-Star Jasmine, by Encosta de Lago). This was the first stakes victory for Diamond Made who took her record to 1 win and 4 placings from 7 starts for $135,665 earnings.
