Fast Play Moved To Liberty Stud
US Gr1-winning 19-year-old sire Fast Play (Seattle Slew-Con Game, by Buckpasser) will relocate from Wafare Farm in Kentucky to Liberty Stud in New York for the 2006 season, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The half-brother to multiple Gr1 winner & sire Seeking The Gold has been based at Wafare "since beginning his stud career in 1990". From 363 foals in 12 crops of racing age, Fast Play has sired 206 winners (14 stakes-winners) from 273 starters who have earned US$12,787,564. His son Lucayan Prince won England's 1996 Gr3 Jersey Stakes & finished 2nd in England's Gr1 Darley July Cup Stakes; Lucayan Prince was also high-weighted between 5-7 furlongs in England in 1996 & in Ireland in 1997. Fast Play also is the sire of graded stakes-winners Fast Catch, Fire King & Power Play, as well as multiple stakes-winner Rapid Proof. On the track, Fast Play won the 1988 Gr2 Breeders' Futurity & Gr1 Remsen Stakes in consecutive starts, after finishing 2nd in the Gr1 Hopeful Stakes. Overall he won 5 of 14 starts & earned US$594,545.
