Railings Wins Colin Stephen Handicap

NZ's Cambridge Stud-based champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added another group success when promising 4YO gelded stayer Railings (Zabeel-La Suffragette, by Palace Music) grabbed victory by a long-neck in the $150,000 Gr3 Colin Stephen Handicap (2400m) at Randwick. Railings (ridden by Darren Beadman for trainer John Hawkes) defeated 5YO gelding Run Rita Run (Runyon-Our Rita, by Haligate) & 4YO Cross Bar (Cape Cross-Lady Leica, by Sir Tristram). Railings (a NZ$300,000 yearling at the 2003 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale) now has 5 wins (also including the Listed Premier's Cup over 1800m at Rosehill on August 27) & 3 placings (including 3rd in a 3-way photo-finish to the Gr1 AJC Derby in March & last-start runner-up in the Gr3 Kingston Town Stakes over 2000m at Rosehill on September 10) in 11 starts for $376,160 prize-money.
