Former Coolmore shuttler Peintre Celebre (Nureyev-Peinture Bleue, by Alydar) added a black-type success when 5YO mare Beautiful Gem (Peintre Celebre-Just Blooming, by Yeats) returned from a 13-week spell to score a long-head victory in the $100,000 Listed Hyderabad Race Club Stakes (1200m) for mares 4YO & up at Caulfield. Beautiful Gem (ridden by Nicholas Ryan for trainer Lee Freedman) defeated 4YO mare Truly Wicked (Rubiton-Dizzy Lass, by At Talaq) & 6YO mare Umber (Umatilla-Estupenda, by Balmerino). Beautiful Gem now has 9 wins & 14 placings in 32 starts for $683,750 earnings.
