Kentucky Mixed Day-1: US$125,000 Gone West Princess
And Charles Miller paid US$125,000 for Gone West mare Gone West Princess (consigned by Darby Dan Farm as agent) sold in foal to Hennessy (who stands at Kentucky's Ashford Stud, where his 2006 fee is US$60,000) reported bloodhorse.com. Virginia-bred Gone West Princess is from winning Alydar mare Mrs Highness. Miller (a Ohio-resident who formerly operated a quarter-horse ranch in Kansas) purchased Kentucky's 120-acre Winchester Farm last year & renamed it Rosecraft Farm; he commented: "To be honest, this is the 1st thoroughbred mare I have ever bought. I just wanted to get into the thoroughbred business. We're looking to get into the commercial breeding side of the business." Miller added Rosecraft currently has 20 mares on the property with 5 boarders.
