Yoshida Buys Argentina Gr1 Star Cursora
In South America, top Japanese breeder Katsumi Yoshida has purchased multiple Argentine Gr1-winning filly Cursora (who capped off the 2005 season with victories in both the Gr1 Gran Premio Enrique Acebal & Gr1 Gran Premio Internacional Copa de Plata-Arquitecto Roberto Vasquez Mansilla) "for an undisclosed price" reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Arrangements "are being made for the 3YO daughter of Candy Stripes (out of Ahmad mare Calorica) to be shipped to the US, where she is expected to resume her racing career". Cursora won 3 of 5 starts in Argentina (including a 3.5-lengths victory score over that nation's current top distaff mare Magnetic Eyes in the Gr1 Copa de Plata, South America's most important race for top turf fillies & mares, on December 4 at San Isidro).
