1st Sires For Top US Mares

In the US, bloodhorse.com noted the sires to whom a series of Gr1-winning broodmares will be bred for the 1st time this year:
- Ashado: Saint Ballado's 7-time Gr1-winning daughter (2004 champion 3YO filly & 2005 champion older female, purchased for US$9 million by Sheikh Mohammed at the 2005 Keeneland November breeding stock sale) will head to Storm Cat (standing for US$500,000 at the Young family's Overbrook Farm in Kentucky).
- Friendly Michelle: won the 2004 Gr1 Prioress Stakes & will be bred to A.P.Indy (standing for US$300,000 at William Farish's Lane's End Farm in Kentucky).
- Intercontinental: 2005 champion turf female (winner of the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf & full sister to 2001 turf champion female Banks Hill) is booked to Empire Maker (who stands at Juddmonte in Kentucky).
- Island Sand: 2004 Gr1 Acorn Stakes winner will be bred to A.P.Indy.
- Lady Tak: millionaire who won both Saratoga's Gr1 sprints for distaffers (2003 Gr1 Test Stakes & 2004 Gr1 Ballerina Handicap) will be bred to Distorted Humor (who stands at Bill Casner & Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm in Kentucky).
- Madcap Escapade: winner of 2004 Gr1 Ashland Stakes (among 7 wins in 9 starts for US$1,052,852 earnings) is booked to A.P.Indy.
- Megahertz: Gr1-winner (victorious in 13 stakes overall) will visit Giant's Causeway (standing for US$300,000 at Ashford Stud in Kentucky).
- My Trusty Cat: 2005 Gr1 Humana Distaff Handicap winner is booked to A.P.Indy.
- Pampered Princess: 2005 Gr1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes winner will be bred to former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Unbridled's Song (who stands at the Taylor family's Taylor Made Farm in Kentucky).
- Pleasant Home: Ogden Mills 'Dinny' Phipps home-bred & 2005 Gr1 Breeders' Cup Distaff winner is booked to Awesome Again (standing at Frank Stronach's Adena Springs Kentucky).
- Shadow Cast: 2005 Gr1 Personal Ensign Stakes winner is booked to A.P.Indy.
- Society Selection: triple Gr1-winner (Gr1 Test Stakes, Gr1 Alabama Stakes & Gr1 Frizette Stakes, plus 2nd in the 2005 Gr1 Breeders' Cup Distaff) will be bred to Giant's Causeway.
- Stellar Jayne: triple Gr1-winner & millionaire (bought by Sheikh Mohammed for US$3.6 million at the 2004 Keeneland November sale) is booked to Storm Cat.
- Tarlow: 2005 Gr1 Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap winner will be bred to Empire Maker.
