Black Ink Wins Falvelon Quality
Ill-fated Arrowfield Stud sire Snippets (Lunchtime-Easy Date, by Grand Chaudiere) added a black-type success when speedy 5YO gelding Black Ink (Snippets-Empress Regina, by Luskin Star) took victory by a neck in the $100,000 Listed Falvelon Quality (1200m) at Doomben in Brisbane. Black Ink (ridden by Michael Cahill for trainer Les Kelly) defeated 8YO gelding Katenian (Mighty Avalanche-Duchess Of Pemm, by Covetous) & 6YO gelding Messiaen (Celestial Dancer-Grand Shower, by Grand Rocky). Black Ink (a $50,000 yearling at the 2002 Inglis Sires Produce Sale) now has 9 wins (also including the Gr3 The Shorts over 1100m at Randwick last October) & 6 placings in 19 starts for $348,800 prize-money.
