Distorted Humor Wins HK Gr2

Monday, 6th March 2006

In Hong Kong, former Grand Lodge Thoroughbreds shuttler Distorted Humor (Forty Niner-Danzig's Beauty, by Danzig) also added a group success when Australian-bred gelding Hello Pretty (Distorted Humor-Blazing Aura, by Blazing Sword) recorded a 1.75-lengths victory in the HK$3 million (A$500,000) Gr2 HK Derby Trial (1800m on turf) for 4YOs at Sha Tin. Hello Pretty (ridden by Gerald Mosse for trainer Francis Lui Kin-wai) defeated Irish-bred favoured gelding Sunny Sing (Sri Pekan-Sagrada, by Primo Dominie) & fellow Australian-bred gelding Very Fit (Woodman-Jade Tiara, by Bureaucracy). Hello Pretty formerly raced as Distorted Halo in Melbourne (where he finished 5th in his 3rd & final Australian start in the Gr2 Bill Stutt Stakes over 1600m); he has now had 5 HK starts for 3 wins (including 2 previous victories over 1400m).
