Octagonal Continues Good Run

Friday, 2nd June 2006

Following last week's Gr1 Prix D'Ispahan victory by his European-bred son Laverock at Longchamp in Paris, 10-time Gr1-winning Woodlands Stud stallion Octagonal (Zabeel-Eight Carat, by Pieces Of Eight) followed-up with a double at Canterbury Park in Sydney that included impeccably-bred juvenile gelding Sermon (Octagonal-Eureka Jewel, by Semipalatinsk) over 1100m on debut; his dam Eureka Jewel was runner-up in the Gr1 AJC Oaks (after winning the Gr3 Adrian Knox Stakes at her previous start). Another son of Octagonal, 5YO gelding Triple Dee won later on the program over 1550m. Octagonal is standing this season for $22,000.
