Honours List 7th Winner from 20 runners
Widden Stud freshman sire Honours List (Danehill-Gold Script, by Script Ohio) recorded his 7th 1st-crop winner from just 20 starters when juvenile filly Kirralee Queen (Honours List-Lusong) scored by 3.25-lengths over 1100m at Ipswich yesterday. Kirralee Queen (ridden by Michael Rodd for trainer Shaun Dwyer) was an $8,000 yearling at the 2005 Magic Millions summer Sale. Kirralee Queen is the 6th Honours List winner bred by Iskander Racing & Breeding, which is selling 10 mares during next week's Magic Millions National Broodmares Sale as part of a long-term plan that includes upgrading broodmare stock to support Honours List. Managing director Sheriff Iskander confirmed: "We are aiming to have horses of Easter (Inglis) & January (Magic Millions) standard & that means we have had to review our broodmare band. This Magic Millions sale is a chance to pick up some nice mares at affordable prices. They are all in foal to Honours List & all the Honours List stock run. More than 1 in 3 are winning races & it is worth remembering the quality of the mares he is serving is only improving." Honours List is standing at Widden in 2006 for $11,000.
