NZ 3YO Black Panther Joins Freedman Stable

Wednesday, 14th June 2006

Promising NZ 3YO Black Panther (Kaapstad-Miss Toonsie, by Affirmed) "has been transferred to the Melbourne stable of Lee Freedman," reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. Auckland-based part-owner Peter Walker confirmed: "He took no harm from the trip & has settled in well at Lee Freedman's property. There will be a lot of good opportunities for him in Melbourne over the spring carnival." Black Panther won 4 starts this season (plus runner-up in the Gr2 Mercedes Championship Stakes (2100m) at Ellerslie in February) but Walker warned: "He was still a very weak horse as a 3YO & he will be much stronger by the time he returns to the races next season."
