Shively Buys Woodlynn Farm

Friday, 16th June 2006

Also in Kentucky, Dixiana Farm owner William Shively has purchased nearby 325-acre Woodlynn Farm in Lexington (from Walter Hillenmeyer & Robert Hoeweler) "for an undisclosed amount," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Woodlynn bred Gr1 winner & Vinery shuttler More Than Ready, 1997 Canadian champion 3YO filly Cotton Carnival, Gr2-winning US$1,964,253-earner Guided Tour & Gr3 winner Watchmon. Hillenmeyer noted: "We're not getting out of the horse business, just getting out of the farm business. We're getting older & it's a time-consuming business to run a farm. Robert (Hoeweler) likes to spend more time in Florida fishing & I'm not getting any younger, so it's a change for both of us." Woodlynn's 15 mares will be placed at various Central Kentucky farms.
