Race Caller Brian Blackmore Dies Aged 67

Race caller Brian Blackmore has died aged 67 "after losing his battle against diabetes," reported racenet.com.au. Blackmore called his 1st race meeting in 1955 at Quanbatook near Swan Hill in Victoria & initially worked for 3TR in the Gippsland area before moving to Melbourne's 3DB in 1963 "where he called under his mentor & legend Bill Collins". Blackmore had 10-years away from calling before returning in 1983 to 3DB "where he called until 1988, when he moved to 3UZ & Sport 927 before retiring last year."
