Inglis Weanlings Day-2: $100k Encosta De Lago Colt

In the Melbourne auction ring yesterday, Greg Holmes paid the Day-2 top price of $100,000 for a weanling colt by Coolmore sire Encosta de Lago (the 10th foal from 12-year-old Mighty Kingdom mare Clifton Gardens) during the final session of the 2-day Weanling section at the 5-day Inglis June Sale at Oaklands. The colt was consigned by Erinvale Thoroughbreds as agent; his dam Clifton Gardens is a 3/4 sister-in-blood to  Jewel In The Crown & a half-sister to Gr1 QTC Oaks winner Joie Denise (dam of Gr1 AJC Oaks winner Sunday Joy).
