Dye Out Of Intensive Care

Wednesday, 28th June 2006

Former leading Sydney jockey Shane Dye "has been moved out of intensive care, but could remain in hospital for up to a month," reported The Daily Telegraph. Dye suffered serious head injuries in a racefall at Hong Kong's Sha Tin track on Sunday & former wife Karla Langmack (who flew from Sydney to HK on Monday) told the newspaper: "Shane is writing & talking, but is still being heavily sedated for most of the day. But he is feeling & looking a lot better." She added Dye is likely to remain in HK's Prince Of Wales Hospital "for 2-4 weeks" & noted: "He still has some fluid on the brain, but hopefully he won't need another operation; that is the main concern at the moment."
