Thursday, 3rd August 2006

Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, "hearings for the companies seeking licences to operate slot machines at the state's racetracks have been set by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which could vote on conditional licences in late September," reported bloodhorse.com. The PGCB set September 11-12 for hearings on conditional licences sought by 6 racetracks, including thoroughbred courses operated by Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association (Penn National Race Course), Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment (Philadelphia Park) & Presque Isle Downs (a track under construction near Erie). Greenwood has already "begun demolition work on the 1st & 2nd floors of the grandstand at Philly Park to get the facility ready for slots".
