Go Deputy Wins US Gr1 Sword Dancer

The French-based Wertheimer Brothers 6YO home-bred entire Go Deputy (Deputy Minister-Partygoer, by Secretariat) "charged home from off the pace to score a 1.75-lengths victory" in the US$500,000 Gr1 Sword Dancer Invitational Handicap (12 furlongs on turf) at Saratoga in New York, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Go Deputy (ridden by Eibar Coa for trainer Todd Pletcher) defeated Gr3-winner Silver Whistle (Alphabet Soup-Polish Polka, by Polish Numbers) & Grand Couturier (Grand Lodge-Lady Elgar, by Sadler's Wells). At his previous start Kentucky-bred Go Deputy won the US Gr2 Bowling Green Handicap at Belmont Park (to follow 3 runner-ups & a 3rd in graded stakes competition this year); overall he now boasts 6 wins from 16 starts (running exclusively on turf) for US$663,120 earnings.
