Fooram Wins Wagga Wagga Gold Cup

Top-weighted 6YO gelding Fooram (Maroof-Sinjani, by Sir Tristram) scored a 0.75-lengths victory in the $110,000 Listed Wagga Wagga Gold Cup (2000m). Fooram (ridden by Corey Brown for trainer John O'Shea) defeated front-running 5YO gelding Mi Casa (Shinko Forest-Jevresa, by Jevington) & fellow 5YO gelding El Meroo (Adventurous-Lexington Star, by Sovereign Run). Fooram (a NZ$64,000 yearling at the 2002 NZ Bloodstock Select Colts Sale) now has 7 wins (also including 2006's Gr2 Chairman's Handicap over 2600m at Randwick & Listed Manion Cup over 2400m at Rosehill) & 7 placings (including November's Gr3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2500m at Flemington) from 31 starts for $460,835 earnings.
