I Have No Fear Wins Russell Classic
Freshman sire & Coolmore shuttler Rock Of Gibraltar (Danehill-Offshore Boom, by Be My Guest) notched his 8th individual Australian winner (& 5th Australian stakes-winner) when juvenile daughter I Have No Fear (Rock Of Gibraltar-Countess Christie, by Marscay) easily defeated her male rivals to score a 4.5-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) for 2YOs at the Gold Coast. I have No Fear (ridden by Darren Beadman for trainer John O'Shea) defeated the colt Pride Of Power (Canadian Silver-Princess Power, by Ease The Squeeze) & fellow filly Chabeli (Iglesia-Chattel, by Grand Lodge). I have No Fear now has a win & a runner-up from 6 starts for $80,050 earnings. The victory saw her sire Rock of Gibraltar (who has 15 yearlings catalogued for the upcoming Magic Millions National Sale) placed just 1 behind fellow Coolmore shuttler Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) in the race for Australian 1st season sire honours by individual winners.
