Monday, 7th May 2007

In South Africa, 3YO gelding Pick Six (Rambo Dancer-Choice Field, by Rami) scored a front-running 1-length victory against older rivals in Africa's richest race, the R3 million (A$500,000) Gr1 Gommagomma Challenge (2000m) at Turffontein. Summerhill Stud-bred Pick Six (ridden by Anton Marcus for trainer Charles Laird) defeated favoured fellow 3YO Emperor Napoleon (Kahal-Ellinore, by Northern Guest) & Natural Selection (Western Winter-Masai Mara, by Man Of Property). Already in 2007, Pick Six finished runner-up in January's Gr1 Cape Derby (2000m) at Kenilworth & 3rd in March's Gr1 SA Classic (1800m) at Turffontein.
