4th Foal For US Champ Xtra Heat
In the US, 2001 Champion 3YO filly Xtra Heat (who concluded her 4-year racing career with 11 graded stakes victories) produced her 4th foal when a filly by former Arrowfield Stud shuttler Unbridled's Song was born at ClassicStar in Kentucky, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Now 9YO Xtra Heat (Dixieland Heat-Begin, by Hatchet Man) is the dam of 3 other foals: Southwestern Heat (a winning Gone West colt); a 2005 colt by Storm Cat; & a 2006 Elusive Quality filly. Xtra Heat retired in 2003 with 26 wins from 35 starts & $2,389,635 earnings; she won 9 of 13 starts during her champion season (including the Gr1 Prioress Stakes, Gr2 Stonerside Beaumont Stakes, Gr3 Endine Stakes & Gr3 Cicida Stakes, plus runner-up in the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Sprint). Unbridled's Song stands for US$200,000 at Taylor Made Stallions in Kentucky.
