Stewards Probe Bet Accounts Of 10 Vic Jockeys
Six more jockeys "are embroiled in Victoria's betting account affair" reported The Daily Telegraph. Racing Victoria chief steward Des Gleeson confirmed "a total of 10 jockeys will now appear before stewards next Monday, accompanied by national jockeys president Ross Inglis". All of the jockeys "have been presented with a print-out of the betting transactions associated with their accounts". Gleeson said the inquiry "would focus on betting history over the past 12 months". Jockeys are allowed to own sports betting accounts, but are not allowed to bet on races.
