US Sire Storm Boot Euthanased Aged 18

In the US, Kentucky-based sire Storm Boot (Storm Cat-Aliata, by Mr Prospector) was euthanased aged 18 at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington "due to complications from chronic degenerative tendonitis & eventual laminitis," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Storm Boot (who stood at Crestwood Farm since beginning his stud career in 1994) stood this season for US$12,500. From 11 crops of racing age, Storm Boot has sired 376 winners (46 stakes-winners) from 475 starters that have earned US$26,866,769; his top offspring include multiple Gr3-winner Bourbon Belle (who earned US$1,152,223) & multiple graded stakes-winners Hurricane Bertie & Night Patrol. On the track, Storm Boot won 4 of 14 starts.
