NZ Fairdale Shuttler Oregon Dies In US

US-bred sire & NZ Fairdale Stud-Soneri Lodge shuttler Oregon (Halo-Three Troikas, by Lyphard) "has died from complications due to laminitis", reported nzracingnews.co.nz. Oregon has sired almost 200 individual winners world-wide (in the UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea, Mauritius, Australia & NZ over distances ranging from 1100-4150m) including 19 individual stakes-winners headed by: Singapore's 2-time Horse-Of-The-Year Ouzo (who won both the Singapore Derby & Gr1 Singapore Airlines International Cup); Cedar Manor (6 wins including Australia's Gr2 Norman Robinson Stakes & the NZ Listed Levin Ryder Stakes); Dreyfuss (winner of the Listed Singapore Derby); Oregon Power (7 wins including the NZ Gr1 Easter Handicap); Haylee Baylee (6 wins including the Gr 3 Rotorua Challenge Plate & Listed Manawatu Breeders' Stakes); Yacquina Bay (Australian Gr3 BTC Chairman's Handicap); Wolf Creek (Gr3 Trentham Stakes & 2nd in Gr1 Wellington Cup); Australian sprinter Rock You (Gr3 Rupert Steele Handicap, plus runner-up twice in the Gr1 Oakleigh Plate & also in the Gr1 Salinger Handicap); Oregon Seal (Australian Gr3 Tesio Stakes); & Buster Brookfield (Listed Manawatu Flying Handicap). Oregon has also made an impression as a broodmare sire, notably via Australlan star Portland Singa (Gr1 Brisbane Cup & Gr3 Ipswich Cup).
