Wednesday, 23rd May 2007
US Ashford Stud-based 12-year-old Coolmore sire Grand Slam (Gone West-Bright Candles, by El Gran Senor) "will not be shuttling back to La Mission in Argentina for the forthcoming Southern Hemisphere breeding season," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Dual US Gr1-winner Grand Slam (leading international 2nd crop sire of 2003) has sired 323 winners (32 stakes-winners) from 463 starters in 6 crops of racing age who've earned US$30,091,235. Grand Slam stands for US$35,000 at Ashford Stud in Kentucky.
