1st Winner For Irish Freshman Refuse To Bend

In England, classic-winning 8YO stallion & Darley shuttler Refuse To Bend (Sadler's Wells-Market Slide, by Gulch) recorded his 1st winner (with his 2nd runner) when 2YO filly To The Point (Refuse To Bend-Be Decisive, by Diesis) scored by 2.5-lengths on debut over 5 furlongs at Warwick for trainer Ed McMahon. Refuse To Bend (a half brother to Gr1 Melbourne Cup winner Media Puzzle) won Ireland's Gr1 National Stakes as a 2YO & followed-up with victory in the UK Gr1 2000 Guineas as a 3YO; overall he won 7 of 15 career starts (including 4 Gr1 triumphs) & earned US$1,350,034. Refuse To Bend's 2008 fee at Ireland's Kildangan Stud is €20,000 (A$34,000) & he has 88 2YOs in his 1st crop.
