NZ Runner Spin Around Also Arrives In Singapore
NZ's 2nd entrant in the Gr1 Singapore Airlines International Cup (2000m) Spin Around (Spinning World-Be Yourself, by Noalcoholic) has also arrived safely at Kranji & Singapore Turf Club veterinary surgeon Dan Shaw reported: "According to the International Racehorse Transport groom on the flight, Spin Around is one of the most experienced travellers he's had anything to do with. He looks in good order & will undergo all the usual tests in the coming few days, including having his temperature checked twice daily plus having a routine blood sample." Australian-bred 7YO gelding Spin Around (a $50,000 yearling at the 2002 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale) was a last-start 3rd carrying 60kg in NZ on April 19 over an unsuitable 1600m trip; overall he has 9 wins (including December's NZ Gr1 Avondale Gold Cup over 2200m & November's Gr2 Counties Cup over 2100m at Ellerslie, plus 2007's Listed Winter Classic Stakes over 2000m at Riccarton Park) & 10 placings (including 2007's Gr3 Merial Metric Mile over 1600m at Awapuni) from 43 starts for $864,054 earnings.
