Monday, 12th May 2008

Also in France overnight, The Aga Khan's home-bred Zarkava (Zamindar-Zarkasha, by Kahyasi) maintained her unbeaten record with a 2-lengths victory in the €400,000 (A$680,000) Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (1600m) for 3YO fillies at Longchamp. Favourite Zarkava (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre) defeated Irish-bred pair Goldikova (Anabaa-Born Gold, by Blushing Groom) & Halfway To Heaven (Pivotal-Cassandra Go, by Indian Ridge). Last season Zarkava also won France's Gr1 Prix Marcel Boussac (1600m) at Longchamp & overall now boasts 4 wins from 4 starts.
