2nd European Winner For Exceed And Excel
Monday, 19th May 2008
Boom Darley 1st-crop sire Exceed And Excel (Danehill-Patrona, by Lomond) recorded his 2nd Northern Hemisphere winner when Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed al Maktoum's 2YO colt Spin Cycle (Exceed And Excel-Spinamix, by Spinning World) scored by 2.5-lengths at Hamilton in the UK for trainer Bryan Smart. Spin Cycle was an 84,000 guineas (A$185,000) yearling at Doncaster. Exceed And Excel now has 2 winners from 4 runners in Europe; meanwhile in Australia he leads the 1st-season sires table with 12 individual winners (including 5 stakes-winners).
