Wednesday, 28th May 2008

On the track yesterday, former Woodlands Stud & now Darley 11-time Gr1-winning World Champion Miler & Australian Racehorse-Of-The-Year Lonhro (Octagonal-Shadea, by Straight Strike) added a juvenile feature success when daughter Black Minx (Lonhro-Faith Hill, by Danehill) scored a 1.25-lengths victory against the males in the $100,000 Magic Millions 2YO Trophy (1000m) at Rockhampton in north Queensland. Black Minx (ridden by Jim Byrne for trainer Mark Webb) defeated the colt Hyde Park (Thorn Park-Of Value, by Danzatore) & favoured fellow filly High Roll n Woman (Noverre-Aspirant, by Native Aspen). Black Minx (a $260,000 yearling consigned by Willow Park Stud at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast) now has 4 wins (also including March's Listed McDougall Stakes over 1000m at Eagle Farm) from 5 starts for $239,000 prize-money.
