Danehill Dancer Adds Irish Black-Type
In Ireland overnight, Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a juvenile black-type success when Ballydoyle's favoured colt Westphalia (Danehill Dancer-Pharapache, by Lyphard) scored a 3-lengths victory in the €55,000 (A$94,000) Listed Hurricane Run Stakes (7.5 furlongs) for 2YOs at Tipperary. Westphalia (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated front-running US-bred colt & stable-mate Sawtooth Mountain (Johannesburg-American Jewel, by Quiet American) & UK-bred colt Driving Snow (Verglas-Dazzling Dancer, by Nashwan). At his previous start Westphalia finished 2nd in last month's Irish Gr3 Anglesey Stakes (6 furlongs) at The Curragh & overall now has 2 wins & 2 runners-up from 4 starts.
