Fasliyev Adds UK Black-Type
In the UK overnight, former Coolmore shuttler Fasliyev (Nureyev-Mr P's Princess, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type success when French-bred 3YO filly Lady Deauville (Fasliyev-Mercalle, by Kaldoun) scored a 1-length victory against older rivals in the £50,000 (A$105,000) Listed Upavon Fillies Stakes (10 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Salisbury. Lady Deauville (ridden by Francis Norton for trainer Paul Blockley) defeated 4YO mare Sweet Lilly (Tobougg-Maristax, by Reprimand) & Irish-bred fellow 3YO filly Cape Amber (Cape Cross-Maramba, by Rainbow Quest). Overall Lady Deauville now has 3 wins (also including 2007's French Listed Prix Zeddaan over 1200m at Fontainebleau & UK Listed Radley Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newbury) & 5 placings (including April's UK Gr3 Fred Darling Stakes over 7 furlongs at Newbury, plus 2007's French Gr3 Prix Miesque over 1400m at Maisons-Laffitte, French Gr3 Prix Du Calvados over 1400m at Deauville & UK Listed Star Stakes over 7 furlongs at Sandown Park) from 13 starts for £100,762 (A$211,000) earnings.
