Scarborough & Patinack At Arqana Deauville
In France, the 1st yearling sale of the European season begins tomorrow with the opening session of the 4-day Arqana Sale at Deauville & a sizeable Australian contingent present. Arqana Southern Hemisphere representative Damon Gabbedy commented: "I am very impressed with the standard of physical specimen I've seen here already & the different pedigrees all make for a very interesting sale. It is fantastic to see the Northern Hemisphere offspring of not just the shuttle stallions we get in Australia, but to see how Europe's leading stallions compare." Last year half of the top 10 lots were by shuttle sires past or present. This year Victorian breeder Bob Scarborough is involved in the sale as a vendor with a Sadler's Wells half-sister to Gr1-winner & former shuttle sire King Charlemagne being offered by Marc de Chambure's Haras d'Etreham. And Patinack Farm's Roger Langley has arrived & confirmed: "We are looking for pedigrees that will complement what we already have & that can then shuttle later on."
