Thousand Words Retired To Irish Stud

In Ireland, 4YO stallion Thousand Words (Dansili-Verbose, by Storm Bird) "has been retired to stud & will stand the 2009 season at Maurice Burns's Rathasker Stud in County Kildare," reported racingpost.co.uk. Juddmonte home-bred Thousand Words won 3 races as a 2YO (including the Gr3 Somerville Tattersalls Stakes over 7 furlongs) & finished 5th in the Gr1 Racing Post Trophy in his final juvenile start. As a 3YO he finished 5th in France's Gr1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains (2000 Guineas) before being transferred to the US, where this season he finished 4th in the Gr2 San Pasqual Handicap & 6th in the Gr1 Shoemaker Mile Stakes at Hollywood Park.
