Doncaster Yearlings Day-1: Average Down 9.5%
Overall on Day-1 at Doncaster, 139 yearlings sold (84% of 165 offered) for £4,738,000 (A$9.949m) which was down 12.6% on last year's 144 sold for £5,421,150 (A$11.384m). The average of £34,086 (A$71,000) was down 9.5% on last year's £37,646 (A$79,000) & the £25,000 (A$53,000) median was down 8.4% from last year's £27,300 (A$57,000). DBS managing director Henry Beeby commented: "We are delighted with the solid trade that we experienced today, particularly for the better lots. All the faces that we hoped would attend were present & many of them were active, which resulted in a lively day of trade that we are confident will continue throughout the week."
