UK Tatts Foals Day-4: $500k Galileo Colt
County Kildare-based Kennycourt Stud's Eugene McDermott out-bid local agent Anthony Stroud & paid 200,000 guineas (A$500,000) for a colt by former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (out of Charnwood Forest mare Epping) consigned from Brian Grassick's Newtown Stud in Ireland. The colt is a full-brother to 2006 Gr1 St Leger runner-up The Last Drop & pin-hooker McDermott told racingpost.co.uk: "The plan is to resell him back here in Book 1 of the October Sale next year; we got away well with selling the Galileos this year. The plan is to try & compete at the top end."
