UK Tatts Mares Day-3: $1.625m Anna Pavlova

Thursday, 4th December 2008

French Stud owner Andreas Putsch (who recently bought Haras de Saint Pair du Mont in Normandy) out-bid John Ferguson & paid 650,000 guineas (A$1.625m) for multiple Gr2-winning 5YO mare Anna Pavlova (Danehill Dancer-Wheeler's Wonder, by Sure Blade) consigned from Richard Fahey's Musley Bank Stables. Putsch indicated 10-time-winner & Timeform 117-rated Anna Pavlova was purchased as a foundation broodmare for Haras de Saint Pair du Mont & told racingpopst.com: "I expect to have 15-16 mares at my farm in France, after selling some at Deauville next week. She's from an old classic family & she was a tough race winner. She was versatile, as she showed form from 6-12 furlongs & had beautiful conformation. I am thinking about sending her to either Dalakhani or Manduro."
