NSW Minister Explores Gosford-Wyong Merger
NSW Minister For Gaming And Racing Kevin Greene yesterday met the chairmen & chief executives of Wyong & Gosford Race Clubs (plus Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'Landys) "to discuss the viability & future of racing in the NSW Central Coast area." That came just 24 hours after Greene's Wednesday meeting with representatives of the Australian Jockey Club (Royal Randwick & Warwick Farm) & Sydney Turf Club (Rosehill Gardens & Canterbury Park) to "explore the potential benefits of an amalgamation between Sydney's 2 metropolitan race clubs". Greene announced yesterday's meeting "specifically focused on the feasibility of having the Gosford & Wyong Race Clubs operate together as one Central Coast body. All parties have now agreed to a process that will see terms of reference formed with a view to engaging an independent person to undertake a feasibility study."
