In the UK overnight, bloodstock agent Hugo Merry (acting on behalf of American trainer Marty Wolfson) paid top price of 47,000 guineas (A$103,000) for 3YO colt Sky Gate (Arch-Mista Mayberry, by Touch Gold) at the 1-day Tattersalls February Sale. Sky Gate (consigned from the Manton House stables of Brian Meehan on behalf of owners Atlantic Crossing) has 1 win from 4 starts won & will now be sent to Florida; his winning 9YO dam Mista Mayberry is a half-sister to stakes-winner Markus.
